The GRUB Education Program partners with the greater Cultivating Community project to provide Urban Farming Workshops, Community Garden support and educational experiences, and other forms of project collaboration and outreach.

The acronym “GRUB” playfully stands for “Growing Resourcefully, Uniting Bellies.” Since 2007, GRUB Education Program has aimed to improve the quality of our lives, and all life we interact with, through locally based, environmentally and socially sustainable agriculture, creative sharing of resources, and experiential learning and services.

This program is an exploration of a local interdependence where stewardship of the land and environment, and the health of the community is our primary purpose. Our society is an accumulation of the stories of its living community, a fabric woven by threads of commonality. We at GRUB have decided to take responsibility for our experience. We are living a life that finds balance through diversity. We have chosen to change our patterns in a fabric we are a part of creating–to switch threads and weave a new, adventurous and bold story for ourselves and our common future.

We are a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization and are registered as a charitable organization with the State of California.
